Herd Management LLC is an Alaskan company that deals in the removal and distribution of unauthorized livestock on Federal U.S. Fish and Wildlife refuges. Currently we are marketing cattle located on Chirikof Island in the Gulf of Alaska. According to Wanda Marie Fields in her book "Now It Can Be Told",this is a disease-free herd. They have not had exposure to Hoof and Mouth disease or E-Bola, also hormones and antibiotics have never been used on this herd. They have been a free range herd since 1887 and are a mixture of Siberian, Shorthorn, Longhorn and Angus breeds. These photos were taken in the middle of March after having wintered on the island without any supplemental feed or assistance.
